Returning SJC families will notice a few changes in fees, policies and balance due dates for SJC 2014. We have made these changes to encourage early registration and timely receipt of fees and forms. This is being done so our SJC leadership can do a better job of staffing, planning and preparing program. These changes are not intended to raise money or make things inconvenient for SJC families. Rather, it is to help us have sufficient time to prepare another great week at SJC. In past we have had people arriving at the start of camp or at the camp bus with campers and their forms and fees! And we have had campers drop out at the last minute and even after camp started for minor reasons. These changes are intended to discourage these practices and help us run things more smoothly and efficiently.
We have implemented a an alternative fee and due date structure for new SJC families. This is because many of our first-time campers hear about SJC during day camps held in June and July – and are therefore unable to register early for SJC. We want to encourage new SJC campers and their families to try SJC and so we have made the fees and due dates different for them. We hope that these changes will make it easier for new families to try our camp, and that once they experience SJC they will become part of the SJC family and return for many years to come.
Also please note that at SJC 2013 we came close to reaching our maximum number of campers. To make sure your camper secures a place at SJC 2014, we urge you to register as soon as you can.
- When: Sunday, August 9, 2015 – Saturday, August 15, 2015
- Who: All Korean-Americans (adopted, 2nd, 3rd generation, etc.)
- Ages: 7 – 18 (or entering 3rd grade in Fall 2015 – finished 12th grade in June of 2015)
How to Register your camper(s):
Registration Step 1:
- Print and complete all registration forms
- Include a $100.00 deposit
- Mail completed forms to:

Registration Step 2:
- Once we receive your deposit and completed forms, we will notify you of your successful registration and we will send you an invoice for the remaining balance of camp fees.
- Mail in your remaining balance of camp fees.
Balance of payment and ALL forms are due postmarked by the date specified, and are subject to late fees (see payment policy).

Camp Registration Fee
Registration fee includes lodging, food, and activities. The date of your registration is determined by the postmark or when you submitted online. A $100 deposit is required to register. Send the final balance of your fees during step 2 of registration as described above (when you receive your invoice).
RETURNING SJC campers and their families:
$495 Early Registration Price per camper registered by May 15, 2015.
$545 Registration Price per camper registered after May 15, 2015.
NEW SJC campers and their families: $495
SJC may offer financial assistance based on need. A special fund has been established by the family of Chull Victor Kim to assist first-time campers attend SJC. For more information, contact us using the form on the contact page or call us at (802) 487-0752.
Payment Policy, Late Fees, & Cancellations
$100 deposit per camper (from registration fee).
Please include this when you mail in your registration forms.
$50 late fee per returning camper if balance of payment and forms are postmarked after July 1, 2015.
$25 late fee per new camper if balance of payment and forms are postmarked after July 15, 2015.
Cancellation & Refunds:
Cancellations received before July 20, 2015 will not be eligible for a refund of their deposit. Cancellations received after July 27, 2015 (one week before camp starts) will not be eligible for a refund. Removal of camper from camp by parent or via expulsion after camp starts forfeits eligibility for refund. Refunds after July 27 may be granted under certain circumstances (e.g. medical emergency) at the sole discretion of the Director.
Discount per extra child:
$20.00 OFF the registration fee per additional child registered per household.
This may be applied when you pay the balance of your registration fees.
Camp fees include $10.00 to spend at the camp store. Each day after lunch, campers may purchase juice, candy, stamps, T-shirts sweatshirts, etc. from the camp store.
Additionally, certain afternoon electives may have a small fee associated with them to cover the cost of camp crafts, model rockets, T-shirt design, etc. Therefore, you may send in additional money for your camper to spend at the camp store with your balance of payment if camper plans to spend more than $10.00 for any of the above items. We will bill you after camp for any additional store credit used. Please note: Any store credit balances less than $12.50 will be considered a donation to SJC, and not returned. *Time and labor involved in refunding less than $12.50 make it impractical.

Bus Fee: +$100.00 (or +$50.00 one-way)

Andover High School is located at 4200 Andover Bl (S. of Long Lake Rd., W. of Telegraph Rd.) in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Buses will stop at McDonalds, 3200 E Holland Road, in Saginaw (exit 149B off I-75) on the way to and returning from camp. Please provide a sack lunch or money for McDonalds. You may make arrangements to drop-off and pick-up your camper at this stop. If you are providing transportation for your child, please ensure they arrive at camp (Sunday at 1:00 PM) and depart from camp (Saturday at 1:30 PM) at the scheduled times.
The camp carries accident insurance for campers and staff. A photocopy of the parent’s health insurance policy card should be sent in with the balance due and forms.
All luggage must accompany the campers to Andover High School. Label all clothing and luggage.
A different camp T-Shirt is designed each year. One T-shirt is included with the camp fee this year. Additional T-shirts are available for $15.00 for small, medium, large, or extra large. For XXL T-shirts the cost is $20.00 each.
Campers may only make collect or calling-card calls, which will be placed by the Counselor. In the event that the camper must be contacted from home, the Director should be called at (989) 821-9474.

Families may visit camp on Friday, August 8, 2014.. We will provide lunch for those families who have made reservations ($5.00 per visitor). Visitors should plan to arrive after 11:00 AM and leave by 8:00 PM. Sae Jong Camp will provide a free Korean dinner for all visitors. We ask visitors not to bring pets.
